Sept. 29, 2015: Panel at One More Page, 7 p.m.: Join moderator Madelyn Rosenberg, author of How to Behave at a Dog Show, as she speaks with authors and illustrators about their processes, both in writing and in art, and their varied approaches for blending art and fiction into books for young people. Panelists include graphic novelist Gareth Hinds, who writes new adaptations of classics such as Macbeth, Beowulf, and King LearRashin Kheiriyeh, widely-acclaimed author and illustrator of fifty-six books, including Two ParrotsKate Samworth author and illustrator of Aviary Wonders, which won the 2014 Kirkus Prize for Young Readers’ Literature; and Theordore Taylor III, who illustrated DJ Kool Herc and the Creation of Hip Hop, which won the 2014 Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Award.

Clearly I need to get better at updating my events, as I seem to have skipped a bunch. Here’s where I’ll be for the immediate future:

July 12: Radford Reads Book Festival. I’ll be on a panel at 10:45 and signing books afterwards. Come see me!

July 12: With Mary Crockett at the Salem Museum promoting Dream Boy. Book Launch, all are welcome! 3 to 5 p.m.

July 13: With Mary Crockett at Volume II Bookstore in Blacksburg promoting Dream Boy. All are welcome! 1 p.m.

July 24th: With Mary Crockett at One More Page in Falls Church, Va. 7 p.m.

Sept. 6th: With a bunch of fun authors and kids at a lunch for the winners of the summer reading challenge for D.C. public libraries.

Oct. 16th: With a bunch of fabulous Virginia authors at Teen ’14 at the Richmond Public Library 6:30 p.m.

Oct. 18th: With Wendy Shang, teaching a class for Richmond kids on Getting to Know the Enemy — all about creating the best bad guys and gals.
