Bitty (in art and sculpture)

Bitty, my main character from Canary in the Coal Mine, was lucky enough to have his likeness captured artistically lately, by the kids at Swanson Middle School, where I spoke last month about historical fiction, and by my friend Sarah Hand, an artist you’ll find blogging over at Hearts and Needles. I keep moving this little guy around the house, sort of like Elf on a Shelf, but without any threats, trauma or repercussions.

Thank YOU Swanson Middle School!

Paper maché is much cooler than you remembered it!
